The Biggest Stage for RI High School Theatre!

What is The Rhode Island Drama Festival?

The Rhode Island Drama Festival is an annual event where high school theatre companies across the state perform for each other and a set of adjudicators. Stellar work in Acting or Theatre Tech is awarded All-State recognition and two schools are awarded the opportunity to perform at the New England Drama Festival that year.

While there is a competitive aspect to the festival, we at RITEA believe the festival is an excellent event where students and directors can co-mingle, connect, and collaborate on ways to enhance theatre in RI schools. Students take various professional workshops and make friends at other schools throughout the 2-3 day event, while the community comes together to celebrate the best in RI High School Theatre.
