2019 festival to feature one-act plays from 11 participating schoolsCRANSTON, RI (March 4, 2019) - The Rhode Island Theatre Education Association (RITEA) announces full details regarding the 2019 Rhode Island State Drama Festival, hosted by Cranston High School West, from March 8-9, 2019. The 2019 festival will feature one-act plays presented by 11 schools from around the state of Rhode Island. All performances will take place at Cranston West Alumni Auditorium on the campus of Cranston High School West in Cranston, Rhode Island. Participating schools will perform in four blocks, beginning on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 5pm. Tickets for the festival are general admission, and are sold by block and full festival for individuals, family 4-packs, and groups (10+). "The Rhode Island State Drama Festival has continually been a means of celebrating high school theatre in our state," said Mr. Richard Sylvia, RITEA President and Director of Arts at Bishop Hendricken High School. "The festival not only allows student artists from across the state an opportunity to perform, but more importantly, an opportunity to support the work of their peers." The following schools will be presenting one-act plays in the 2019 festival: Bishop Hendricken High School, Blackstone Academy Charter School, Cranston High School East, Cumberland High School, East Greenwich High School, Hope High School, Lincoln High School, Mt. Hope High School, Scituate High School, South Kingstown High School, and St. Raphael Academy. For a full roster of performances by session, click here.
